She began her career in adult basic education at the Community Learning Center in 1977 and served as the director from 1990 to 2002. After five years of leading a statewide system for staff and program development in adult education at World Education, Inc. in Boston, she returned to CLC as the director in 2007 where she manages a staff of 60 teachers serving more than 1,000 students each year.
“The idea of community is at the heart of our work. Adults come to the CLC from all over the world eager to learn and wanting to improve their lives and those of their families. In the classroom, they form a community as they learn together. Through our student leadership programs, they take their learning into the broader community. As they progress in their learning, they contribute increasingly to the community in Cambridge and beyond as essential workers or civic participants.” — Mina Reddy
