The Cambridge Community Learning Center’s Workplace Education program brings ESOL classes right into Cambridge companies, making it easier for employees to attend. Instruction includes English language skills (ESOL) and transition to college reading, writing, and math. Instruction is designed to meet the needs identified by employers and employees.

The Community Learning Center has provided workplace education classes for staff from:

  • Hospitals and health care facilities, including Mount Auburn Hospital, Neville Center, Cambridge Hospital, Spaulding Hospital, and Sancta Maria.

  • Child care centers, including City of Cambridge preschools, and Head Start.

  • The hospitality and food service industry, including John Harvard Brew House, Casablanca, Whole Foods, and The Inn at Harvard.

Current classes for employees of Cambridge Health Alliance and Spaulding Hospital serve 26 students in three classes. Classes are held onsite at the hospital facilities in Cambridge.

For information on CLC's Workplace Education program, contact Mina Reddy, CLC director, at (617) 349-6358, mreddy@cambridgema.gov.
