Late last year we completely renovated the SYWARE Web site to better serve and support our global community. If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to look it over.

Industry News:

News from SYWARE: SYWARE, Inc is seeking pre-release users for Visual CE 10.
Version 10 is code complete and ready for pre-release testing. If you are interested in being a pre-release user, please contact Craig Butler. We are going to give first preference to users of the Mobile 360 products, since version 10 includes a new module that is only available to Mobile 360 customers. Version 10's release is scheduled for mid-fall.

News from SYWARE: First Visual CE training class scheduled for October 6th, 2006.
The beginner Visual CE and associated tools training class has been scheduled for October 6, 2006 at the Marriott Boston North in Woburn MA. This class offers an introduction to database design as well as particulars of using Visual CE to create data entry applications. It is open to anyone; you do not need to be a SYWARE, Inc. customer to attend. The cost is $299 for a full day of instruction and includes a continental breakfast, a box lunch, and an afternoon snack. More details and the course outline are available here. If you would like to attend, please contact Frank Yacano to reserve your spot.

Technical Tip from "Dr. DeeBee": Controlling Report CE from a Visual CE form.
When launching a Report CE report from a Visual CE form, you may want to control the user interaction. For example, you may want to suppress the "print preview" window or have it print without first putting up the printer dialog. Command buttons in Visual CE and command line switches within Report CE allows this type of flexibility. Read this month's tip to learn more.

Industry News: Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine releases nominees for the 2006 Best Software Awards.
Each year since 2000 Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine's Annual Best Software Awards helps users select software that best suits their Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone needs by honoring companies that produce outstanding software. Even if Visual CE hadn't won in the database category the last two years and wasn't nominated again this year, we'd recommend you spend a few moments looking over the nominees!
