SYWARE's Visual CE® Software for Pocket PCs Adds Mobile Forms Development and Synchronization to FileMaker Pro

Notice for FileMaker Pro users...

Cambridge, MA (February 18, 2003) - SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of intuitive database tools for business and personal productivity, today announced Visual CE® for FileMaker Pro, the newest edition of the company's award-winning database and forms development software for Pocket PC and Windows CE handheld computers. The latest release adds support for FileMaker Pro databases, allowing users to create mobile forms in minutes, then transfer and synchronize data between their Pocket PC or Windows CE devices and FileMaker Pro on the desktop.

Visual CE for FileMaker Pro provides a quick way to create forms and database applications without programming. Users simply decide what information they need, then use a rich set of drag and drop controls to customize their electronic forms. Data can be easily transferred and synchronized with FileMaker Pro, as well as other ODBC-based desktop database programs. Records can be viewed and modified on either the handheld device or the desktop computer.

Visual CE for FileMaker Pro features a flexible array of development tools, including pop-up word lists, grid control, macro programs, and font and button control. Multiple handhelds can be synchronized to the same desktop table without the use of clumsy query tables. In addition, full support for Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) devices allows users to easily transmit and track remote information, such as environmental data or equipment located in the field.

Macros, Wireless Connectivity, Report Writing, Royalty-free Distribution
Visual CE for FileMaker Pro offers an advanced feature set to the Pocket PC and Windows CE community. Macro programming allows for the easy creation of multi-step sequences. Integration with mEnable®, SYWARE's breakthrough wireless architecture, extends handheld applications with real-time, interactive access to desktop FileMaker Pro data allowing mobile devices to be easily integrated with enterprise business processes. Visual CE also works in conjunction with Report CE®, the world's only report writing tool for Windows CE and Pocket PC handhelds. In addition, royalty-free distribution of Visual CE applications means developers can quickly deploy their programs throughout the company at a fraction of the cost of other mobile programs on the market.
